24 Mei 2016, Malaysia: Disney telah melancarkan “Dream Big, Princess”, satu gerakan antarabangsa yang mendorong gadis-gadis di mana jua untuk yakin pada diri sendiri dan mengejar impian mereka dengan keberanian, keazaman dan penuh kasih sayang. Kempen 3 tahun ini menonjolkan ciri-ciri murni setiap Disney Princess yang ingin diterapkan dalam gadis-gadis masakini.

Disney Channel telah memilih empat gadis berbakat di Asia Tenggara yang menonjolkan kualiti unik ini. Dari Malaysia, Aaliyah Hanifah, juara luncur air berusia 13 tahun akan berkongsi kisah semangat dan kesungguhannya dan bagaimana Disney Princess kegemarannya Ariel (dari filem “The Little Mermaid”) telah memberi inspirasi kepada beliau untuk mencapai impian besarnya. Video ini akan disiarkan di Disney Channel bermula 8 Jun.

“Disney Channel adalah tempat kelahiran filem dan siri televisyen Disney Princess kegemaran ramai dan cerita-cerita yang tak lapuk dek zaman tentang pengembaraan, keberanian dan kebaikan untuk mengajar gadis-gadis erti kecantikan sejati. Kami harap Aaliyah Hanifah, seperti juga Disney Princess kesayangannya Ariel, akan memberi inspirasi dan memperkasakan gadis generasi baru untuk mencapai apa yang mereka impikan,” kata Natasha Malhotra, Pengurus Besar, Media dan Kandungan Berjenama, The Walt Disney Company Asia Tenggara.

Siri video yang akan disiarkan di Disney Channel ini juga akan menampilkan kisah penyanyi/artis YouTube Jannine Weigel (Ploychompoo) berusia 16 tahun dari Thailand, peluncur ais bersemangat Sofia Guidote berusia 14 tahun dari Filipina, dan pemenang berbakat Junior MasterChef Indonesia berusia 14 tahun Syifa Hasan (Afaf) dari Indonesia. Mereka berkongi kisah dan puteri yang telah memberi inspirasi kepada mereka untuk berjaya mencapai impian mereka.

Kanak-kanak di Asia Tenggara juga boleh mendapat inspirasi daripada Disney Princess kegemaran mereka melalui pertandingan Disney Channel “Create a Dream”. Dari 1 hingga 30 Jun, mereka boleh melayari www.dreambigprincess.asia untuk mencipta ‘Dream Meme’, cara kreatif untuk mereka meluahkan inspirasi besar mereka menggunakan imej, ikon dan font Disney Princess. Semua ‘Dream Meme’ kemudiannya akan diabadikan ke ‘Dream Wall’ di laman web tersebut. Meme paling kreatif dan penuh inspirasi bakal memenangi koleksi lengkap patung Disney Princess oleh Hasbro setiap minggu dan juga Hadiah Utama – percutian sekeluarga yang menyeronokkan ke negara Jerman untuk 4 orang termasuk lawatan dan penginapan di istana.

Peminat juga boleh mendapat rangkaian lengkap produk patung Disney Princess oleh Hasbro di semua pusat membeli-belah di Malaysia. Pada 25 Jun, penonton Malaysia boleh menonton filem Tangled untuk melihat impian Rapunzel menjadi kenyataan di Disney Channel (Astro Ch 615).

AALIYAH YOONG HANIFAH

Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah, a female water ski athlete who is Asia’s number 1 ranked Open Women tricks skier, was recently listed in the Top 10 World Ranking for the “Under-17” category in girls tricks and top 30 in the World Ranking for the “Open Women” category by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) following her achievements at the Moomba Masters Championship in Melbourne, Australia. The youngest skier in her category, Aaliyah is the current record holder of the SEA Games Open Women tricks and Malaysian Open Women tricks.

Born 16 July 2003, Aaliyah started water skiing at just 5 years of age and started her trick skiing career at 6 years of age. In 2010, she came in 6th place in her first OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) Asian Beach Games in Muscat, Oman. From 2010 to 2013, she was the National Girls Champion in Tricks & Slalom in the Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 17 categories. From 2011 to 2013, she was also the Malaysian National Women Tricks Champion. In 2014, she was also Champion in the MALINDO CUP Under-17 Girls Tricks in Jakarta, Indonesia; Asian Cup Women Tricks in Makassar, Indonesia and Under-17 Asian Girls & Asian Oceanian Girls at the AO Championships in Perth, Australia.

Aaliyah is no stranger to breaking boundaries and setting a great track record. Not only is she often the youngest competitor but also the youngest winner in the many competitions she has been a part of since 2010, not to mention breaking numerous records along the way. These include youngest-ever Asian Under-17 Girls Tricks Champion and youngest-ever gold medallist in 50 years of SEA Games history at only eight years old (2011); and youngest gold medallist in the history of Asian Women & Under-17 Tricks championships when she was only 10 years old!

In 2015 alone, her accomplishments included gold medals at the 2015 SEA Games Singapore for Open Women Tricks and Open Women Overall; and also the Women Tricks Indonesian Open in Bandung, setting a new Asian Open Women Tricks record at 6290 points. She was also 2nd place in the IWWF Asian Championships 2015 for both the Open Women Overall and Open Women Tricks category.

Determined and goal-driven, Aaliyah hopes to win a world championship title. She also enjoys horse riding, reading, trampolines and swimming.

In 2016, Aaliyah was selected by The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia to be Malaysia’s brand ambassador for the “Dream Big, Princess” campaign which aims to inspire girls of all ages to be empowered to realize their dreams.
