krr-ctzenKuala Lumpur, 13 September 2016 The ROASTERS Healthy Day Out by Kenny Rogers ROASTERS (KRR) saw elderly folks of Pusat Jagaan Little Sisters of The Poor in a healthy tai chi session headed by Tai Chi Master Sim Eng Ker and Master Vincent Chang Wui Yee of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association of Malaysia, supported by Masters Ho Yew Ling, Harry Chua Beng Boon and Lee Seng Wai all from the Association‘s Certified Instructors group.

Residents of Pusat Jagaan Little Sisters of The Poor were joined by team members of Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn. Bhd. in a lighthearted exercise, celebrating the gift of life: good health. Speaking on behalf of KRR was Ling Shiau Yunn, Guest Engagement Manager of Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn. Bhd. who shared, “We are pleased to have all parties come together for this special occasion, with a positive mindset towards a greater and healthier lifestyle. Keeping healthy should not be limited to a certain age group but it should be cultivated by all ages.”

She added, “The elderly folks are here with us at Sports Toto Fitness Centre to get active along with Berjaya Roasters team members in a tai chi session coordinated by Master Sim and Master Vincent. We believe the lifelong benefits of practising tai chi will promote good health and also serve as a good form of relaxation and meditation. We hope that others will be inspired by the high spirits of these senior citizens and step outside for a healthy workout!”

krr-ctzen2“The Yang style tai chi chuan allows the individual’s “Chi” (a form of energy) in the body to circulate smoothly through gentle movement. Coordination of mind, hand forms and footwork of Tai Chi allows a person to achieve total relaxation which balances internal “Chi” and improve immune system. It is proven to be one of the best exercises for all ages to relieve stress and restore balance. We are really honoured to have the opportunity to instill the knowledge of tai chi which has been a rewarding experience to them and also, to us,” commented Master Sim Eng Ker, Secretary General of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association of Malaysia.

“We could see how grateful the elderly folks are to engage in a lively exercise which has uplifted their spirits and brought them positive energy! We look forward to KRR’s ongoing initiative to educate the public on the importance of an active lifestyle,” said John Kuak, volunteer at Pusat Jagaan Little Sisters of The Poor.

The session culminated with all participants enjoying wholesome and nutritious Kenny’s Quarter Lite Meal together.

Every Monday, KRR’s Golden Citizen Privilege* promotion entitles guests aged 55 years and above enjoy a special 30% off at all KRR restaurants nationwide.
