2012-AJTT VI Award nightgmo

A Journey Through Time, Asia’s grandest luxury watch and jewellery showcase, will return to the Starhill Gallery for the seventh consecutive year, from the 22nd to 29th November. A Journey Through Time VII will not only focus on the beauty and elegance of the watches, but highlight the craftsmanship, passion and artistry that goes into the creation of these items.

The exhibition of watches and exquisite jewellery will not be the only thing visitors have to look forward to with a range of planned activities lined up, including fashion parades, delectable cuisine and performances by New Zealand Pop-Opera trio Tre-Belle and Australia’s Got Talent 2009 winner, Mark Vincent. During the opening gala, we will be treated to Belgian singing sensation Yannick Bovy’s exceptional voice. Please see below for information on these three wonderful acts.

Yannick Bovy

Already known as the ‘Michael Bublé of Belgium’, at barely 26 years of age, Yannick Bovy already has the kind of voice that takes us back to the time when Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole ruled the charts and melted women’s hearts across the globe.

One of Belgium’s greatest new musical talents Yannick has the looks, flair and charisma to complete the full picture. With his singles, “She’s Even More Beautiful” and “Theoretical Love”, Yannick convinced many radio and television stations of his undeniable talents, not only in his home country Belgium, but also in Holland, Poland, Brazil and Asia.

His voice embodies an era of style in music that has been unmatched ever since, a style that we think will fit in perfectly with the luxurious atmosphere at A Journey Through Time VII.

Mark Vincent

This young man’s story is a remarkable one. The young Australian won the third series of Australia’s Got Talent in 2009 while still a teenager and now, at the age of 20 has grown into his incredible voice with a subtle, fresh confidence to his persona, a slight swagger to his step, and yet he exudes the same humility which has won him legions of passionate fans. It’s this constant young-yet-mature juxtaposition which defines his unique character, and has seen him release five successful albums.

He sees his job as being that of telling stories through songs, using melodies and lyrics that have been around for eons as inspiration. He feels emotionally connected to each of the songs that he sings and always tries to bring the story out in every performance, be it an old classic or a more modern take on the standards.

Continuing to grace the world with his dulcet tones and delivering old school classics with the Mark Vincent slant is what we have come to expect from him and we are extremely pleased to have him here with us to celebrate the seventh consecutive installment of A Journey Through Time.

Comprised of the stunning vocal talents of Karyn Andreassend, Jennifer Little and Jess Segal, New Zealand Pop-Opera trio Tre-Belle dazzles audiences with their striking blend of three part harmony, creating a unique fusion of opera, musical theatre and popular repertoire. Each member of the trio are seasoned soloists in their own rights and have performed professionally in New Zealand, Australia and Europe.

Since launching in 2009, the three divas have featured across New Zealand, touring to sell out audiences, in addition to numerous corporate and large events. They launched their debut album “Opera to Broadway” and featured on the 2010 Salvation Army Christmas CD.

Combining beauty with precision and mastery, there are very few performers that can capture the ethos of A Journey Through Time VII so perfectly and we can’t wait to be entertained by Tre-Belle.

Yannick Bovy will be performing nightly from the 22nd November to the 24th, Tre-Belle will give us three performances from the 25th of November to the 27th and Mark Vincent will round off A Journey Through Time VII with two performances on the 28th of November and the 29th.

Speaking regarding the three performers, Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Francis Yeoh, Managing Director of YTL Corporations Berhad said, “an event as luxurious as this must be a treat not only for the eyes, but also for the other senses. With our sumptuous gala dinners we will make sure our guests’ tastebuds are tingling and, by inviting these three international headlining acts to perform for us, we will ensure that they have nothing to complain about in terms of atmosphere. In the past, we have had such luminaries as Russell Watson, Delta Goodrem, Katherine Jenkins and Julio Inglesias wowing our crowds and I am confident that this year we will be able to live up to such a high-level of entertainment.”

A Journey Through Time VII will showcase over RM1 billion worth of first-in-market editions of luxurious watches and jewellery pieces. Appearing at the event will be such names as Rolex, Franck Muller, Richard Mille, Bedat & Co., Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Gubelin, Omega, Hublot, and Hermes and, using the glamorous occasion to introduce themselves to Asia, are renowned Italian jewellery brand, Damiani and the oldest jewellers in the world, Garrard, while Mouawad will be presenting their newly refurbished outlet. Education will very much be a theme of the event with Swiss Auctions providing demonstrations by skilled and world-renowned Swiss watchmakers as well as providing over 200 of the world’s rarest timepieces for auction.
