PORTRAITS represents a series of portraits by photographer Amri Ginang. Featuring over 180 images exhibited in the form of prints, photo books and video clips, the show will celebrate the enduring prints and photo books trend which is becoming more popular again across the world. The subjects of Amri’s portraits come from all walks of life; it includes the famous singer Anuar Zain, film director Anwardi Dato Jamil Sulong, the late legendary 60’s singer Dato Ahmad Jais, international Malaysian model Yuen, multi-talented local talent Joe Young, a 100 year-old drummer from Sumatra and many more.
PORTRAITS also features a 2-day workshops and photo talks based on the importance of portraits. Amri Ginang will also conduct a studio lighting demo with Sabrina Benneett (Miss Universe Malaysia 2014) as model. Commercial photographer Din Arshad, Wedding photographer Azam Neurmaya, Concert photographer Ajako Watanabe, Newborn baby photographer Kamalia Photolicious and Travel photographer Siu Lin Poon will be guest speakers discussing how they apply the art of portraiture within their respective specialities.

Registered participants will also be invited to take part in photo sessions guided by Amri Ginang featuring make up artists and photo models.

AMRI GINANG studied photography and fine art in London before freelancing and later worked as in-house photographer in Stockholm Sweden between 1985-1996. Since his return to Malaysia in late 1996, Amri have photographed for clients like Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Universal Music Malaysia, Warner Music Malaysia, Chitralada Publishing Thailand, The Aman Resorts Indonesia, MIDA, Petronas, Malaysia Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Isetan of Japan, Unilever Malaysia & Thailand, etc. Amri is now based in KL shooting commercial, fine arts and assigned portraits.
