(SUKAN) MEDIA PRIMA SCORES MALAYSIA FOOTBALL MEDIA RIGHTS FOR 3 YEARS

Kuala Lumpur (11 February 2016) –The Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership announced today the appointment of Media Prima, Malaysia’s leading fully integrated media group, as the free-to-air broadcaster for the country’s top football leagues and cup competitions for the next three seasons from 2016 to 2018.

Media Prima will kick off their coverage on 13 February with two LIVE matches at 8.30pm. The Charity Shield between Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim and Malaysia Cup champions Selangor will air on TV3, while the Malaysia Super League match between Perak versus Kelantan will be on TV9.

Football fans can look forward to up to three matches per week for the upcoming season on Media Prima’s television and online platform, Tonton. This includes live or delayed coverage for the Malaysian Super League (two matches per round) and the Superbest Power Piala FA (one match per round) from February to May 2016. Media Prima will showcase one match per round from the TM Piala Malaysia when it kicks off in July 2016.

Media Prima’s ensemble of experts for its football coverage will include top pundits such as Lim Chan Yew, Nizaruddin Yusof, Akmal Rizal Mohd Rakhlee, Ahmad Shahrol Azhar, as well as other established former players to provide match analysis and colour commentary. Other prominent presenters include well-known household names such as Abu Bakar Atan, Tabah Sazwan Othman and Sherkawi Jirim. In addition, TV9 has recently launched its new weekly football highlight show, ‘Scoreboard Extra Time’, which will present all the best moments from every round into a bite-sized programme.

The free-to-air media rights agreement between Football Malaysia LLP and Media Prima was negotiated by MP & Silva, the Football Association of Malaysia’s Global Advisor for all media and commercial rights.
