This coming Christmas Eve, Jackie Chan will show us what a real police is, protecting the good and punishing the evil in his upcoming cop action movie “Police Story 2013”. In conjunction with the release of Police Story 2013, Malaysia movie distributor RAM Entertainment and SKT Media & Entertainment together with Main Presenter UOB Bank is happy to confirm that Jackie Chan will be in Malaysia on 18th Dec 2013 to personally share his excitement in the latest Police Story movie.
Nearly 30 years after the first instalment in the <<Police Story>> series was filmed in 1985, the 6th movie will finally see the light of day in 2013. The movie poster will officially be released in Malaysia.
The movie poster and the movie trailer were revealed for the first time and fans would witness first-hand head on clash between Jackie Chan’s character as a police, and Liu Ye as the antagonist. Car chase, real in your face fights and gun shots are all part of the highlight in Police Story 2013.
<<Police Story 2013>> is Jackie Chan’s latest role in the <<Police Story>> movie franchise, with the last instalment released almost 10 years ago. In 1985, Jackie himself invested 16 million Hong Kong dollars to film the first <<Police Story>>. It was considered a huge production back then and people were hospitalized almost on a daily, including Jackie himself. No one, other than Jackie himself, would attempt the dangerous actions in the movie, today Jackie Chan’s sacrifices finally bear fruit as the franchise catapulted both Jackie Chan and Hong Kong Cop Action more to the international lime light.
While Jackie acknowledges his aging and has said to “not perform risky stunts”, he refuses to be complacent. Whether it’s an action scene or simply a conversation scene, Jackie gives his all.
<<Police Story 2013>> is directed and written by director Ding Sheng, who previously worked with Jackie Chan in the <<Little Big Soldier>>, starring Jackie Chan, Liu Ye and Jing Tian. Unlike his comedic roles in previous <<Police Story>> films, Jackie Chan’s character. Zhong-Wen is a solemn police investigator, who lost his wife due to his work leaving behind his daughter, played by Jing Tian. In <<Police Story 2013>>, Jackie and Jing Tian share some ‘father – daughter’ emotional scenes.
Jackie Chan as a Police Officer for the Republic of China, donning a military-style uniform. Jackie intentionally changed his unchanged hairstyle of 30 years, to follow the uniformed hair style. He has not changed his hairstyle since 1986, when he fell lost on the set of <<Armour of God>>, suffering severe head injury and almost lost his hearing.
Jackie revealed that he had not cut short his hair following the incident, as a friend attributed the accident in Yugoslavia to his haircut. While Jackie admits to be an atheist, action films are after all extremely risky; hence he decided to keep his hairstyle the same since then.
<<Police Story 2013>> is distributed by RAM Entertainment and jointly presented by RAM Entertainment and SKT Media & Entertainment. Special thanks to Main Presenter UOB Bank, Official Promotional Partners, Acer and Chek Up, Media Partners MYFM and MELODY FM.
