A rite of passage many young people go through is leaving the familiarity of home as they embark on their higher education. Chemical Engineering student, Mohammad Nazlan, or Nazz, is far from his family in Lahad Datu, Sabah, having chosen to study in a local university in Ipoh, Perak.

“My priority is to succeed in my studies and I rely heavily on my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to complete my assignments and projects. More importantly, I can easily stay in touch with my loved ones with Google Duo available on my tab. And it’s not just convenient and clear video calls! With the Google Duo Live Sharing feature, I can co-watch videos or movies by sharing my screen with my family and friends. It’s as if I’m right beside them even though we are miles apart, said Nazz.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s 120-degree Ultra-wide angle front camera, with dual 12MP lenses and auto-framing technology keeps him in shot and looking sharp during video calls. The Quad speakers powered with Dolby Atmos®, three precision mics, and noise reduction tech lets his family hear him crystal clear.

“The Ultra-wide angle camera works like a treat. I no longer need to adjust my position, instead I just enable the ultra-wide angle option. This is especially helpful when I need to demonstrate full-size project prototypes to my lecturer or course mates,” said Nazz.

Samsung Notes has also been an indispensable feature for Nazz during ideation or taking notes during lectures as it allows him to integrate images from relevant references, annotate PDFs and capture voice recordings. With the device’s expansive 14.6” and Split View feature, he can multitask easily by moving intuitively between windows.

“Samsung Notes and the S Pen are perfect for taking notes, sketching, and drawing. I can use multiple pen and pencil types and colours and it’s easy for me to return to my preferred pencil type by simply pressing the S Pen button once. If I need a straight line, I simply hold my S Pen on the screen to make my sketched lines straight – making my diagrams look professional,” said Nazz.

In a world that is becoming more digital and video-driven, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has certainly provided Nazz with the flexibility that he needs to do well in his course work while staying connected to his family.
