Kuala Lumpur, 2 August 2016 – To usher in its 22nd anniversary, Kenny Rogers ROASTERS (KRR) recently embarked upon its “22 Deliciously Healthy Years” campaign, which not only treated Malaysians to exciting and irresistible offers, but also revealed a more benevolent side with its ’22 likes’ initiative.

krr2Acknowledging the ‘unsung heroes’ among us, the initiative saw KRR pledging to contribute a healthful and delicious rotisserie roasted chicken meal to various charitable organisations for every 22 ‘likes’ garnered on its official Facebook page. At the end of the campaign, more than 11,300 likes were received, translating into more than 500 meals distributed among volunteers in Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) nationwide.

“At Kenny Rogers ROASTERS, we realise our operations leave a significant impact in the communities in which we operate. We see this as our responsibility to make this impact a positive one. Besides delivering quick meals which are not only nutritious but delicious, the 22 likes campaign was a great way of incorporating public participation in our efforts to give back to the silent heroes among us,” said Ling Shiau Yunn, Guest Engagement Manager of Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn. Bhd.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal patrons who have supported us all these years. We truly look forward to greater times ahead,” she continued.

“We are delighted to have KRR acknowledge our volunteers and encourage the work they are involved in through this genuine act of giving. We truly appreciate the public’s participation in the campaign and look forward to seeing more great initiatives from KRR,” remarked Loh Jon Ming, Chief Financial Officer of EPIC.

Among other beneficiary NGOs include Power Shift Malaysia, MERCY Malaysia, Malaysian Nature Society, Hospis Malaysia, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Teach For Malaysia, Give.my and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
