As foldable smartphones continue to gain momentum among professionals, there is a clear shift in how business leaders are integrating them into their daily workflows, as productivity tools that support decision-making, collaboration and multitasking on the go.

To support this growing conversation, Samsung is sharing three exclusive Q&As with Malaysian CEOs, each offering first-hand insights on how their foldable Samsung smartphones have become an integral part of the way they stay productive. • What initially attracted you to foldable devices?

The size and convenience of it.

  • How has a foldable device changed the way you work compared to a conventional smartphone (bar phone)?

I like the fact that the phone is foldable, which makes it very compact and easy to put into pockets or handbags. It is also very convenient in that sense, and with the AI functions, it enables me to work faster and optimize my time.

  • Can you share an example where your foldable device helped you work more efficiently?

As I am always on-the-go, the ability to open multiple windows is important for me, so I can view either an excel sheet or an email at the same time. Furthermore, as I attend a lot of events and give talks, being able to take pictures and selfies quickly is also a plus so I don’t miss out on key moments and I’m able to snap and update on the go.

  • What are your non-negotiable productivity habits?

Starting the day with a little mental clarity such as a prayer/meditation time is very important to me. That sets me up for the whole day as I go from meeting to events. Having the ability to carry my phone as it is light and compact anywhere and everywhere also is a non-negotiable so I can use it wherever I am. Previously with a bar phone, I can’t fit it into some of my compact handbags, and I have to either hold it which makes it very difficult to multitask if I am carrying a few things or just leave it somewhere instead of having it on me.

  • What initially attracted you to foldable devices?

I really appreciate the flexibility to open my phone up into a wider screen when needed. It’s a versatile device and meets my needs.

  • How has a foldable device changed the way you work compared to a conventional smartphone?

Nowadays, I need to do a lot of digital approvals and attend online meetings, which is very unlike the old days where things were in hardcopy and in person. My Samsung Fold allows me to read e-documents or look at presentation slides wherever I am, so I can stay productive even while on the move.

  • What initially attracted you to foldable devices?

As someone who is constantly switching between meetings, content reviews, messaging, and business operations, foldables have become an important part of my daily workflow.

What attracted me initially was the ability to carry both a smartphone and a tablet in a single device. As a founder and CEO, I’m constantly on the move, and having a larger screen whenever I need it without carrying another device felt like a natural evolution of mobile productivity.

  • How has a foldable device changed the way you work compared to a conventional smartphone?

The feature I use most is Multi-Window multitasking. Being able to run WhatsApp, email, and a document simultaneously saves me countless context switches throughout the day.

I also appreciate the larger display when reviewing presentations, marketing creatives, financial reports, and social media content before they go live. It allows me to make decisions faster without needing to open a laptop.

There are many moments when I’m reviewing campaign creatives while discussing revisions with the team in real time. With the foldable display, I can view the creative asset on one side while messaging the team or checking campaign performance on the other. What previously required switching between multiple apps now happens on a single screen, which speeds up decision-making significantly.

  • What are your non-negotiable productivity habits?

For me, a foldable device isn’t just a smartphone. It’s a mobile workstation that allows me to stay productive wherever I am.

My productivity system is built around three habits:

  1. Respond fast, decide fast. I try to make decisions as quickly as possible to keep the organization moving.
  1. Stay accessible. I spend a large part of my day communicating with team members, partners, and clients, so having information available instantly is critical.
  1. Review before reacting. Before making major decisions, I always look at the data, reports, or creative assets myself. The larger foldable screen makes this much easier, especially when I’m away from my desk.
