OPPO Malaysia, has donated RM500,000 in aid of Malaysia’s flood victims. The funds are being channeled through Tabung Bencana NSTP as part of the company’s commitment to support the cause. The funds will be utilised to purchase necessary goods and rebuild homes for those affected.
“This is one of the worst flood situations in the country and we are truly concerned about the situation. Since OPPO’s establishment in Malaysia over a year ago, we have lived as part of the nation’s family, and it is our responsibility and commitment to build a better future for Malaysians, be it through new smartphone technology introduction and implementation, or community building. We are devastated over the situation and are keen to support the rebuilding of the community,” said William Fang, Chief Executive Officer, OPPO Malaysia.
Over 1,600 OPPO employees and over 3,500 OPPO dealers nationwide were also encouraged to participate in the cause. The company hopes to raise an additional RM500,000, hitting the mark of RM1million for this donation drive.
In addition to the donation, the company will also help to deliver necessary goods including food supplies and essential items to the flood victims. OPPO’s employees in Kota Bharu will also be assisting volunteers at the affected sites.
“We have a large network which can help maximize and expedite our efforts to assist the flood victims,” William added.
OPPO smartphones damaged by the flood will also be given a 50 per cent discount for full repairs and complimentary minor service maintenance, valid until 31 January 2015.

Due to the current disaster conditions throughout the East Coast of Malaysia, especially in Kota Bharu and Kelantan, OPPO Malaysia is aware that a lot of smartphone users may be facing total or partial phone damage.
