PUTRAJAYA, 12 August 2016 – Running events has been mushrooming across the globe. While Malaysia has many running events held across the nation, Asia Tourism Alliance (ATA) would like to play a role to hold Marathon events as a platform to lure more sport tourists to the country. ATA organized 2 Sarawak Marathon Series since the inaugural event was launched in Bintulu in March 2015, while the 2nd edition were held in Miri on 31 July 2016.
Today, Asia Tourism Alliance (ATA) is launching the inaugural ATA Kuala Lumpur Marathon 2016, we’re glad to have partnered Sunway Putra Mall Kuala Lumpur as the Official Venue Sponsor. The event will be held on Sunday, 13 November 2016. Concurrently, ATA will also launch the 3rd Sarawak Marathon Kuching scheduled to take place on the following Sunday, 20 November 2016.
These two events will be named Twin-city Marathon events as it would allow foreign sport tourists to run in two events at two different locations, Kuala Lumpur will offer runners skyscrapers & metropolitan scenic view while Kuching is known to be gateway city to experience the culture, adventure & nature as the unique selling points to the tourists.
ATA is honored to work together with Tourism Malaysia to help promoting this event to our target markets in China, Korea & Japan. In China alone, our group already have a partnership with a running club which have some 800,000 runners.
Malindo Air, Photobook Worldwide and Tabigo are some of the many who are coming on board to support these events. More announcements would be made to introduce more partners for these two events.
