Melaka, 28th September 2024 – Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd. (Boon Siew Honda) proudly formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) yesterday at the Ekspo Institusi Pendidikan TVET@KKDW 2024, held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC). The ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
This strategic collaboration between Boon Siew Honda and MARA reflects a shared commitment to advancing technical and vocational education and training (TVET), particularly in the motoring and automotive industries. With a focus on creating a skilled workforce, the initiative is set to benefit both the broader community and Honda customers by empowering students with practical expertise that aligns with industry demands.
As part of the MoU, Boon Siew Honda will engage in a three-year program with Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA Masjid Tanah, Melaka. The scope of this partnership includes the following key areas:
Comprehensive Training Programs
Students will participate in courses that merge both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that includes the curriculum provided by Boon Siew Honda. Subjects will cover major areas in the automotive and motoring industry in which for motoring, Boon Siew Honda will apply its syllabus that will prepare graduates for real-world industry challenges.
Holistic Development of Graduates
The initiative aims to equip students with diverse skill sets, making them versatile professionals ready to serve in various sectors of the automotive industry. Graduates will emerge as highly competent individuals with a deep understanding of the latest technologies and tools provided by Boon Siew Honda. Experienced Trainers
Lecturers and trainers will be supported by Boon Siew Honda, receiving specialized product training, ensuring they are proficient in delivering industry-relevant education to the students.
Real-World Learning Environment
To bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry application, Boon Siew Honda will enhance and equip the Automotive Technology Centre (ATC) at Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA Masjid Tanah, Melaka to simulate real industry conditions, allowing students to experience hands-on learning.
Industry Placement Opportunities
As part of their development, graduates will take part in a six-month industrial training with Boon Siew Honda. This placement will further hone their skills through real-life exposure to the operational environment that covers technical skills, warranty claims, customer service and more.
