Long-established and reputable Austria-based motorcycle manufacturer KTM has released the new KTM RC 390. Available in two colours, namely blue and black, it boasts an enhanced design which is a nod to KTM’s MotoGP racing experience and is inspired by the KTM RC16 racer.
Its optimised aerodynamics are created with Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD) simulations which help improve engine heat management while offering excellent wind protection and a higher top speed. Equipped with the proven 373 cc liquid-cooled, 1-cylinder, 4-stroke engine, it puts out a maximum power of 42.9 hp. it has a 40% larger airbox, along with revised engine mapping for better torque delivery of 37 Nm.
The wheels are shod, measuring 110/70-17 and 150/60-17. The handling of the motorcycle is facilitated by the 3.4 kg lighter 5-spoke wheels, 1 kg lighter disc – brakes and 1.5 kg lighter chassis. Allowing the best possible deceleration, the BYBRE brakes also save 960g of weight and can be fully exploited due to state-of-the-art ABS technology.
Retailing at RM33,800, the KTM RC 390 will be available at KTM authorised full range dealers around Malaysia.
