Kegani Racing Academy announced a more exciting third season of its SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series and unveiled plans for the all-new SKILLDRVN SWIFT SUPERCUP PRO-SERIES that will begin in 2026. Season 3 of the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series will consist of 5 rounds held in conjunction with the Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.

The SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series sees young drivers and racing aspirants driving identically-prepared Suzuki Swift designed to make racing even more affordable with only limited modifications allowed. All cars come race-ready and are powered by a production and sealed 1.6-litre engine with a Series-spec remap and a 5-speed manual transmission with standard ratio. The cars are also fitted with 12-point roll cage; FIA-approved racing seat and safety harness; series-spec coil over suspension and lower arm; series-spec brake pads and steel braided brake lines; series-spec 4-1 extractor; and alloy wheels. Participants have the option of buying the race car outright or renting it in a special arrive-and-drive program.

First held in 2023, the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series prides itself in being a grassroots racing platform, incorporating proper guidance and education to minimize learning costs while accelerating the learning curve of aspiring racers. Future Malaysian motorsports hone their skills through the Academy’s comprehensive coursework which includes classroom and on-track sessions before graduating and being certified for racing.

“The format of a one-make race emphasizes on honing skills and developing new talent on the track while keeping the cost affordable and within reach of a larger talent pool. We’ve successfully run the series for two years and coming into our third year, there seems to be a great boost in the level of interest from newcomers,” said Kegani Racing Academy Team Principal & Chief Coach Kenny Lee.

Meanwhile, Season 2 (2024) saw lady driver Loke Yin Yi being crowned the overall SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series. She went home with RM8500 worth of products and racing incentives. The Series in 2024 also uncovered a young talented rookie in the form of 15-year-old Kirill Syrapushchynski who finished runner-up in his debut season moving up from karting.

From 2026 onwards, Lee said Kegani Racing Academy will introduce the SKILLDRVN SWIFT SUPERCUP PRO-SERIES which will complement the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series. The Pro-Series will be limited to 10 participating racing team, each with one driver, with teams choosing their preferred drivers from the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series talent pool to compete at a professional level. And with the new format, drivers who are chosen will be given a race contract with all running costs covered by the team.

Race teams will have full blown livery on the race car for maximum exposure and best branding representation. Two teams that have already signed up to compete in 2026 are the BENDIX ULTIMATE RACING TEAM and Team PROFIMAX MAX UP.

Supporting Kegani Racing Academy’s Driver Development Program throughout the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series and SKILLDRVN SWIFT SUPERCUP PRO-SERIES are also partners BENDIX; TOTAL ENERGIES; PROFIMAX; ADVANTI RACING; GITI; KJ BRAKE; ZX1; ULTRA RACING; and LIFESTYLE MOTORSPORTS.

“The support and contribution of all partners in the Driver Development Program is paramount. It ensures that we are not only able to collaboratively reduce the cost of entry into motor-racing, but more importantly, ensures these new talent begin their journey with the right foundation in place in terms of having the proper equipment, components, support, safety and protection,” said Lee.

In addition to these two announcements, Lee will also continue to serve as Malaysia’s Ambassador for Bendix premium braking components. He was first appointed as Bendix brand ambassador last year with his association to the brand going as far back as 1998 when he first started driving on the track.
