Beramal Bersama Planta, an extension of Planta’s Seceria Air Tangan Ibu campaign has successfully ‘raised’ an astounding 58,980 colourful cookies for orphanages throughout the country – surpassing the initial target of 50,000 cookies.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, mothers along with the public were encouraged to bake colourful and delicious cookies with Planta made with their own ‘air tangan’ and share them with orphans in Malaysia.
“Through the generosity of Malaysian moms, Planta has been able to collect 58,980 cookies to be given to orphanages around the country. Planta is truly grateful for the charitable deeds displayed by Malaysians and playing a part in helping the less fortunate throughout this Ramadan month and making their Raya celebration merrier,” said Tanya Teng, Brand Manager, Foods Retail and Beverages at Unilever Malaysia.
The hand-made cookies were collected at selected Mydin and Giant stores nationwide recently. The public also participated in Beramal Bersama Planta baking workshop hosted by Planta at selected Mydin and Giant stores with every purchase of Planta. Planta will now deliver the cookies to various orphanages across the country.
“Hari Raya is never complete without cookies. Having cookies made with a mother’s air tangan can bring a sweet smile to these underprivileged children and it is such a wonderful thing to see. It will thrill and bring joy to them knowing that a generous group of moms have prepared such a delightful and personal gift of cookies this Raya. They also get to experience and feel the love poured into making the hand-made cookies,” added Tanya.
Earlier in June, Planta launched Seceria Air Tangan Ibu for Hari Raya to inspire mothers to share their ‘air tangan’ and bake colourful, mouth-watering cookies and cakes for a bright Raya atmosphere for the entire family, especially their children.
In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya, Planta introduced 10 new cookies and cake recipes that brings a modern twist to the traditional Pineapple Tart, Pandan Semperit and Marble cake. Planta also added new recipes such as Red Velvet Cookie, Buah Hati Cookie and Pinwheel Cookie, set to bring a colourful vibe and capture a mother’s loving air tangan.
