If ONE: A NEW ERA was anything but spectacular, ONE Championship’s second show in Tokyo, Japan on October 13 is unparalleled.
On Sunday, 25 August, ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed the full card for the historic ONE: CENTURY double-header event that takes place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan on Sunday, 13 October.
“The fight cards for ONE: Century on October 13 in Tokyo are here! The biggest martial arts extravaganza in history will feature two full-scale World Championship events on the same day! In addition to multiple World Championship title fights and multiple World Grand Prix Championship Title fights, ONE: Century will showcase 28 World Champions across various martial arts. Also, for the first time in history, the world will see Shooto World Champions vs. Pancrase World Champions. Lastly, I have a few other big surprises to announce. Any guesses? #WeAreONE,” the Chairman and CEO posted on his Facebook account.
Martial arts fans worldwide were mesmerized by what looks like a mega show to mark ONE Championship’s historic 100th event.
There will be 22 duels – 11 for each show – eight World Title battles, and three World Grand Prix Championship Finals.
The first card sees ONE Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee defend her strap against ONE Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.
In the co-main event, the greatest mixed martial artist Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson takes on Danny “The King” Kingad in the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship Final.
The other co-main event will see three-time lightweight World Champion Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez face knockout specialist Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev in the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship Final.
Malaysia’s welterweight sensation Agilan “Alligator” Thani also returns to the thick of action against another veteran of the sport, Yushin “Thunder” Okami. The Kuala Lumpur-based athlete is looking to continue his run of wins at The Home Of Martial Arts.
Part II of the stacked card is headlined by a mammoth clash between Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang and Brandon “The Truth” Vera. The Myanmar icon will put his ONE Light Heavyweight World Title on the line in what could be a five-round thriller.
The most anticipated rematch in martial arts history gets underway as ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano Fernandes goes head-to-head against Kevin Belingon.
ONE travels to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam next for ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH on Friday, 6 September.
