Shah Alam Stadium is all set to host the historical club friendly between host Selangor and recently crowned UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla on Monday (May 26).
“We are all set,” said FA Selangor Deputy President Dato Mokhtar Ahmad during the pre-match press conference which was held at the Club Saujana Subang here today.
“We hope the match will be a treat for football fans in Malaysia but especially a game to remember to our loyal supporters,” added Mokhtar.
On the pitch, Selangor who is also Malaysian Super League (MSL) leaders have vouched to give their best performance.
Nicknamed the Red Giants, Selangor currently lead the MSL with 34 points after 16 matches, five points clear of second place Pahang.
“We welcome Sevilla to Malaysia and Selangor and congratulate them on their recent Europa League win Despite being one of Europe’s best, we will still play our game and give 100 percent for our fans as usual,” said Selangor coach Mehmet Durakovic
Like to start upfront is Selangor and the league’s top scorer Paulo Rangel.
The Brazilian has been in hot form since joining Selangor and will an impression during the match along with defender Steve Pantelidis from Australia.
Sevilla, whose current kit is sponsored by Visit Malaysia 2014 arrived in Kuala Lumpur yesterday from Bandung where they beat Pelita Bandung 4-0 in their first match on tour.
The team will arrive along with UEFA Europa League cup.
“The team is very excited to play this match. We love the country and the people and look forward making it the memorable match,” said Sevilla coach Unai Emery.
Tickets are priced at RM20 and will be available from Sunday (May 25th 2014) at the Shah Alam Stadium.
