KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – 1 April 2015 – Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, announced the availability of the Honor 4X to Malaysians. It is the first 4G smartphone within the Honor series that is born to surpass with dual 64-bit software and hardware systems, which gives you super power. Honor 4X also redefines excellence with superior features such as strong 4G network connections, impressive battery power and easier navigation in a beautifully crafted design that is for the brave to express their individual personalities anytime, anywhere.

The Honor 4X is ultra-thin at 7.9 mm and offers a 5.5-inch high definition display, 5MP front-facing and 13MP rear-facing high definition cameras and the latest intuitive Emotion UI 3.0 (EMUI 3.0) for the ultimate visual experience. Delivering unmatchable performance, the device comes with a 64-bit octa-core Kirin 620 chipset, 2GB RAM, 8GB ROM and incomparable power saving technology for improved battery power than can last up to 72 hours of continued use.

Stylish designs

Honor 4X redefines craftsmanship with an overall sleek, sophisticated and metallic appearance, combining woodwork, cotton and linen weaving techniques for designs that fully reflect the beauty of nature. The Honor logo design draws inspiration from traditional Chinese embroidery with intricate diamond milling spin cut for a metallic ray-texture pattern.

“The inspiration behind the Honor 4X design is Laputa – the Castle in the Sky, with the camera and flash section aligned in a way that reflects the creative design of the robot as a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki. The simplistic yet intricate details of the device also instills the phone with a sense of effortless performance, and gives users a more comfortable grip,” adds Gary Xu. “It took us months of extensive design refinements to achieve this excellent balance of form and function.”

Offering consumers the ultimate visual experience, Honor 4X has a 5.5-inch HD fully laminated waterfall touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 high definition resolution for vivid and sharper images. The device also has a 75% screen to body ratio, placing the device ahead of its class. Consumers would be pleasantly surprised with the new EMUI 3.0 that is designed to create an easy, elegant, enjoyable and efficient experience. The new version enables users to conveniently manage, search for, obtain and share resources.

The device comes in two colors – Black and White. Other variations will be introduced later.

Super performance

The Honor 4X offers unrivalled performance in its class with a 64-bit octa- core A53 for a powerful and energy efficient CPU for enhanced consumption and productivity. Running on the Android 4.4 KitKat platform, the device comes with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB via SD card slot.

The battery has a 3000mAh capacity coupled with SmartPower2.5, which increases battery life by more than 30%, moderate users enjoy superior battery life of up to 48 hours of continued moderate use, and 72 hours of light use. With the ultra power saving mode, users can saved over seven days of battery life.

 

Staying connected is an important aspect for users and the Honor 4X enhanced this need by integrating strong and stable 4G network connections that reduces the fallback to 3G. It delivers significant signal reception for a reliable call experience through LDS laser engraving antenna technology and dual antenna design, which broadens the antenna bandwidth to strengthen communication performances.

As such, users receive reliable reception even when the signal is weak in places such as underground garages and other marginal coverage areas.

 

Capturing moments of excitement

Taking and saving precious memories is one of the most important smartphone features today. The new Honor 4X offers remarkable camera functionality, featuring high-definition 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel 28mm wide-angle rear-facing camera – that boast High Dynamic Range that reproduces natural light and color with striking intensity in any circumstances.

For stunning images, the rear-facing camera has a SmartImage 2.5 processing engine for quality photos. The 5-piece lens protection with two-sided transparent foil and fingerprint resistant coating and improved light capture technology ensures better photos in low-light environments.

Capture moments that matter with the Ultra-fast Snapshot with fast capture shutter that gives users a chance to take sharp images in an instant directly from the off-screen mode. The All-Focus Mode enables the ability to select areas to refocus after a picture has been taken, while the Watermarks feature adds more flavor and personalization to your photos with a selection of color watermarks.

‘Selfie’ and travel enthusiasts would benefit from the new Panoramic Selfie Mode which offers users a wide-angle scope that can now include all-inclusive views within the photo, while the Beauty feature offers a host of beautifying tools at your disposal for that perfect ‘Selfie’.
