(SEMASA) LOCUS-T Joins Forces with Baidu – Partnership offers Malaysian businesses new online marketing platform to potentially reach over 618 million internet user population in China

LOCUS-T, a leading Malaysian internet marketing company, has teamed up with Baidu, China’s largest search engine, to offer Malaysian entrepreneurs and businesses an all-new digital platform to reach out to China’s businesses and consumers.

The partnership, officiated at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at The Royale Chulan Damansara today, will enable Malaysians to access the largest Chinese-language network in the world through internet advertising and promotional activities.

LOCUS-T, with 14 years of experience in providing Internet Marketing Strategies and Website Development in Malaysia and Singapore, is now the first authorised agency in Malaysia to be accorded the Strategic Partnership status by Baidu, the biggest Chinese-language search engine in the world.

LOCUS-T, who has obtained the accreditations of Google Partner and Yahoo! Search Marketing (SEA) Authorised Reseller, will join forces with Baidu to connect Malaysian businesses to Baidu’s extensive internet marketing services.

Baidu’s pay-per-click (PPC) internet marketing service utilises its 81% share of the search engine market in China and a network of 600,000 affiliate websites, to create a platform linking the needs of hundreds of millions of internet users and businesses.

Baidu hopes to expand and solidify its market in Malaysia by leveraging on LOCUS-T’s technical expertise and business development experience in internet marketing. The aim is to help local businesses and entrepreneurs enhance their internet presence, and to ensure that their business reach their target market in the most cost effective manner.

Malaysian businesses can now subscribe to Baidu Search Engine Marketing (SEM) tools with better service level from LOCUS-T. ” said Mr. Bob Bao, Baidu’s Regional Director of South East Asia.

LOCUS-T will manage a series of internet professional services provided by Baidu. They include: Baidu Search Marketing, Baidu Content Network, Baidu Brand Zone & Baidu Travel Portal.

Both LOCUS-T and Baidu are united in their pursuits to reach out to business owners and users who are interested to elevate their profiles in China, especially those from the travel, education, real estate, food and beverages, and e-commerce industries.

Bao added that the new venture will allow Malaysian businesses of all sizes to tap into the largest market in the world, which was previously unexplored by many here.

Baidu will also assist LOCUS-T in providing data and information analysis, experience and expertise in different industries, as well as technical and marketing consultancy.

Baidu was founded in 2000 by Chinese internet entrepreneur, Robin Li.  In October 2012, the third-quarter operating profit reached RMB22.306 billion (approximately RM 11.65 billion). The search engine caters to all types of daily searches and has a user population of over 618 million as of 2013.

This had made Baidu an ideal internet marketing solution for businesses and brands to enhance awareness and sales, effectively creating enduring positive brand image and maximizing return-on-investments (ROI).

“Businesses and individuals from Malaysia will be able to reach out to 95% of internet users in China through Baidu. We hope this will be one of the channel to increase bi-lateral trade and businesses between Malaysia and China. LOCUS-T is expected to yield minimum revenue of US$1 million to US$2 million (RM3.27 million to RM6.55 million) per annum and is targeting between 200 to 300 companies to register this year.

Services offered by the partnership are available starting from US$2,000 package (approximately RM6,500) onwards. It takes only up to five working days for the search engine to process a new request.
