In celebration of Malaysia’s Year of Festivals 2015 (MyFEST 2015), OX Entertainment Sdn Bhd is proud to announce the inaugural “My Music Festival 2015 (MMF2015) – The Largest Malaysian Live Band Music Festival” which will be held on the 8th of March 2015 (Sunday) at Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon from 5pm -11pm.
International British Rock Legends, Smokie will also be performing at the show as part of their 40th Anniversary World Tour. MMF2015 features 20 Top Malaysian live bands such as Joe Flizzow, Kyoto Protocol, Hydra, The Union, JunkOFunc and many more.
“Smokie” who captivated music lovers around the world with their smash hits “Living Next Door To Alice”, “Needles & Pins”, “Don’t Play Your Rock ‘n’ Roll To Me” and “If You Think You Know How To Love Me” will be the highlight during this musical extravaganza! During the 70s, 11 of their 14 British hits came in that eventful musical decade. Their massive success story has continued to take the world by storm including Scandinavia, South Africa, Germany and even China. Smokie is a band which has sold out tours and gained platinum records in four decades – the 70s, 80s, 90s and the present day.
MMF2015 is all about being connected through music – A Festival for ALL who seek good fun and enjoy great music! It’s also about supporting and elevating our homegrown artistes to an international landscape. Tourists and expats alike can have a taste of our very own musical talents during this amazing festival and take the unforgettable experience back home. The energetic 20 local bands who will be performing during this festival are of different genrés of music such as indie, jazz, pop rock, fusion, funk, R&B and reggae. This eclectic mix of beats and sounds is set to blow music lovers away and remind them that Malaysia is brimming with musical genius yet to be fully explored.
MMF2015 is organized by Ox Entertainment Sdn Bhd and is supported by Malaysia Major Events (MME), a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia. In conjunction with MyFEST 2015, MMF2015 is excited to unveil the best in Malaysian Live Band entertainment. Discover new bands and reminisce the retro years with veteran live bands such as Alleycats, Blues Gang, Heavy Machine & Strollers.
The event is Free and Open to Public! [limited to 15,000 visitors]. However, international tourists, expats and international school students have a dedicated entry. Held at Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon, MMF2015 offers not just a pulsating music experience but also an ambience that allows soaking up the energy of the bands and the enthusiasm of the crowd at the same time.
