Petaling Jaya, December 16, 2015 – XOX Mobile Sdn Bhd, the mobile arm of XOX Group has launched what is believed to be among the first of its kind revenue-sharing postpaid plans in the nation, at a grand launch event, held here today.
This is the first full-fledged Postpaid plan by XOX Mobile Sdn Bhd, the 1st MVNO in the country. XOX mobile parent company XOX Bhd has been listed on Bursa Malaysia since 2011. XOX Mobile is principally engaged in the business of providing mobile services by blending a holistic approach with continuous research and development to build diverse genuine value for mobile products, services and content for young, technologically savvy and general Malaysian customer.
The XOX Postpaid plan is seen as a genuine disruptor to established postpaid business models available locally as its revenue-sharing model is targeted at rewarding underserved users better.
A disruptive business model, product or service is defined by Clay Christensen in his book The Innovator’s Dilemma as a product that addresses a market that previously couldn’t be served or offers a simpler, cheaper or more convenient alternative to an existing product.
According to XOX Bhd, Group Managing Director, Datuk Eddie Chai the brand thoroughly researched postpaid plans globally to find a model that would redefine the product category in Malaysia. The revenue-sharing model proved to be the best fit to benefit consumers battling rising costs of living.
“For XOX Mobile we are working with the mind-set of a start-up. While the incumbents in the market target the higher-end of the market, we are targeting the underserved customers that the incumbents perceive to be unprofitable. It is a different approach and one that is gaining traction among cost-conscious consumers,” Datuk Eddie Chai explained.
The pre-launch of the new plan resonated with consumers, attracting more than 15,000 subscribers since November 2015.
Users who subscribed to XOX Mobile’s postpaid plans be it the Super 58, Ultra 108 or the Pro 158 are entitled to Activation Incentives, Trailing Incentives and Performance Profit Sharing that can reduce monthly bills, and may even allow some ‘power users’ to earn income.

According to XOX Berhad’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ng Kok Heng, the XOX Mobile Postpaid plans offer consumers the unique opportunity to be part of the XOX family by starting their own networks from among family and friends.
These innovative XOX Postpaid plans allow the brand to give back to the community, specifically to subscribers who have supported the brand and helped it grow.
“Consumers have a clear choice when they sign up with XOX Postpaid Plan because they have the opportunity to reduce their bills with minimal effort, while connecting with family and friends. It combines the technology of today with the human need to communicate and share. Activation Incentives will be given to participating subscribers according to their plans, upon their signing of any new subscriber ranging from RM150 for Pro 158 subscribers to RM50 for Super 58 subscribers.
Trailing Incentives give participating subscribers a 6% return, while a maximum Performance Profit Sharing of 13% is available to participating subscribers who bring in more subscribers.
XOX is also giving a minimum 6 years free bills and as an example, cash rewards of up to RM 2,000 to participating subscribers who can sign-up 20 mobile phone users to switch to XOX’s new Postpaid Plans.
